Mar 1, 2007
Vimy Ridge Memorial: The Spirit of Canada mourns her Fallen Sons.
VIMY 1917 - 2007 PILGRIMAGE PÈLERINAGE
On April 9, 2007, over 4,000 Canadian high school students from across the country will make a “pilgrimage” to Vimy, France, to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the Rededication of the Vimy Memorial. To salute these students for their efforts, and to promote awareness of the significance of Vimy as the “birthplace” of modern Canada, The Vimy Foundation will be awarding each student “pilgrim” with a medal similar to that given in 1936 to the original pilgrims, World War I veterans attending the unveiling of the Memorial. These students, returning to Canada with their Vimy Pilgrimage Medals, will help convey the important message that the Vimy legacy is alive and well.
The Vimy Foundation is currently collecting funds for the Pilgrimage Medal Campaign 2007. The Vimy Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to promoting awareness of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and all that it represents to Canadian nationhood. Our efforts include annual educational tours to England and France.
Please send your donation to The Vimy Foundation at 242 Lytton Boulevard, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5N 1R6. Personal contributions of $50 or more and corporate donations of $1000 or more are welcome. Charitable receipts will be provided (please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope).
