Inhouse Counsel Gain the Edge

  Dec 11, 2009
Facing the Challenges of 2010

Who is Watching Your Career?

Professional Coaching and How Can it Help

Inhouse Counsel Gain the Edge

Ever wonder how to move up within your organization or make career-enhancing moves to other organizations?  Ever been so frustrated you considered moving on?  Are you being stretched beyond just being a lawyer to apply experience and judgment in broader business issues?

Athletes, teams and even business professionals use coaches.  Why not in-house counsel?

Learn more about coaching and how it has helped others and may be able to help you.

Stress Hardy Thinking

• How to think your best in trying times.
• What is adversity and what's your goal when things are tough.
• What are the characteristics of a resilient thinker?
• Overview of the resilient thinking model.

Three skills you need: Identifying Non-resilient Beliefs, Getting More Accurate About Causes, Putting it in Perspective.

Moving Over the Rainbow; Transitioning to Your Next Stage

• Life goal setting is paramount. Work should be interesting and a strategy for getting something bigger out of life.
• Break your blinkers. Transition is stressful and that inhibits creativity. Talking to lots of people will give you a
broader perspective.
• Relationships are almost everything. Whatever you're doing, starting and cultivating the right relationships is job one.
• Find the perspective that makes you most attractive. Better to be a fast learner than simply smart.
