Paul Landry
Paul is the National Director of ZSA Accounting Recruitment and joined ZSA in January of 2012. Paul spearheads the growth of the accounting division focusing on the Montreal, Toronto and Calgary markets. Paul specializes in recruiting Chartered Accountants for mid-level and senior-level positions. His clients range from owner-managed, privately held companies to large, publically traded, multinational organizations in a wide variety of industries. Paul also assists accounting firms identify talent for their assurance, tax, and advisory practices.
Originally from Alberta and having grown up in Saskatchewan, Paul obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, with distinction, from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. Paul received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2003 and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and l’Ordre des comptables Agréés du Québec. Paul earned his CPC designation (Certified Personnel Consultant) in 2010 and also recently completed an MBA from the Queen’s School of Business.
Prior to ZSA Accounting, Paul spent 6 years as a Partner and Executive Recruiter at a national recruitment firm specialized in accounting and finance positions. Paul began his career in 1999 at Ernst & Young in Calgary and spent time both in the Audit and Tax practices before joining Meyers Norris Penny in Calgary. He relocated to Montreal in 2004 where he joined RSM Richter in their audit group.
In Paul’s spare time he enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and politics. He also enjoys running, golfing, and spending time with his wife and two French Bulldogs.
Rivkah Hoffman
Rivkah joined ZSA Accounting in June 2012 as a Recruitment Consultant specializing in recruiting Professional Accountants for mid-level and senior level positions in Montreal.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rivkah grew up in Montreal where she obtained her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from McGill University. Prior to joining ZSA, Rivkah spent 3 years in public practice at KPMG, in Montreal, in the Assurance Group. She audited a wide variety of companies, including publically traded corporations in the media and technology sectors, as well as not-for-profit organizations. She then spent two years in finance, working in lending and risk management, and managing client relations.
In Rivkah’s spare time, she enjoys comedy, film, current events and politics, and spending time in the Laurentian Mountains.
Chris Badali
Chris joined ZSA Accounting in January 2013 as a Consultant specializing in recruiting Chartered Accountants for mid-level and senior-level positions in Toronto. Chris has had success working with clients across a number of industries in both the public and private sectors in his most recent role at an international recruitment firm.
Born and raised in Toronto, Chris obtained his Master of Management and Professional Accounting degree from the Rotman School of Management in 2005. He subsequently received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2007 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
Chris brings a track record full of satisfied candidates and clients to ZSA Accounting. Prior to entering the world of Financial Recruiting, Chris began his career in the audit group at RSM Richter in Toronto. After obtaining his CA designation, he spent the next 4 years working in corporate finance where he opined on the value of dozens of businesses in a variety of industries. Working closely with owners, managers and key people in operations, Chris developed a keen sense of what drives successful businesses.
In his spare time Chris enjoys travelling, cooking and reading. He also manages to find time to enjoy cycling and golfing.
Christopher Sweeney
Christopher established ZSA (Zarak, Sweeney & Associates) Legal Recruitment, now Canada’s largest and only national legal recruitment firm, in 1997. ZSA also controls ZSA-X, a boutique financial services recruitment firm; LexLocom, a contract legal services firm; and ZSA Accounting. In addition to being CEO of ZSA, Christopher also exclusively recruits Partners and General Counsel.
Born in Montreal, Christopher earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from McGill University. Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1990, Christopher briefly practised property law in Vancouver before moving to London, England. There he secured a Graduate Business Degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Masters in British Imperial History from London University. Christopher practised property law in London before becoming a legal recruiter with QD (Quarry Dougall), then the pre-eminent global legal recruitment firm based in London.
Christopher founded both the Canadian (CGCA) and Quebec General Counsel Awards (PCJQ) to bring deserved attention to the senior in-house legal community. Christopher has written and spoken widely on the topic of legal recruitment, firm development and career strategy. He has a passion for history and in 2002 initiated the “Re-Trial of Louis Riel”, a nationally-televised mock trial featuring, amongst others, Eddie Greenspan, Alan Lenczner, and Guy Bertrand. Christopher also spearheaded the Vimy Ridge Pilgrimage Medal Campaign dedicated to saluting Canadians who visit the Vimy Memorial in France. He also initiated the Vimy Pin campaign whose goal it is to have all Canadians wear a memorial pin each April 9. In September 2010, Christopher was awarded the Minister of Veteran’s Affairs Commendation for his efforts in raising awareness for the accomplishments of Canada’s Veterans. Christopher is a board member of The Vimy Foundation and the Shakespeare Globe Company of Canada. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and The Albany Club. Christopher has two children, enjoys traveling, skiing, spending time at his cottage in the Laurentians, the “Habs”, history, politics, and wine.
