Our client, a well respected builder in the Canadian construction industry, focused on growth, diversification and profitability, is looking to add a Contract Manager to their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Help ensure our clients current and proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Review, draft, and negotiate legal agreements and other documents related to a variety of construction matters to protect the organization’s legal and business interests;
Lead the development of a new legal intake and file management system for the legal and risk management team;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively track, monitor, and resolve legal issues and disputes that may arise from existing commercial relationships;
Provide legal advice specifically in the areas of risk management and P3 matters;
Create and deliver regular training programs to internal stakeholders and business colleagues;
Management of legal cases with external lawyers;
Assist with M&A transactions
REQUISITE SKILLS
Law Clerk or Paralegal or Legal Assistant Degree;
at least 3 years of Corporate Commercial law experience specifically gained within a publicly traded company, or law firm;
the ability to take responsibility and stay focused on objectives with a can-do-attitude;
Experience in the construction industry would also be considered an asset; and
a strong progressive performance track record.
