The Role
As a Family Law Paralegal, you will be instrumental in supporting their legal team across all aspects of case management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing family law cases from initiation to resolution, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of legal documents and court submissions.
- Drafting, reviewing, and preparing pleadings, motions, agreements, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail under supervision of a lawyer.
- Liaising with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
- Assisting lawyers during court proceedings, including hearings and trials, to ensure seamless case execution.
- Maintaining organized case files, tracking deadlines, and proactively managing the legal calendar to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborating with lawyers, fellow paralegals, and support staff to enhance workflow and execute case strategies effectively.
Qualifications
They are seeking candidates who possess:
- A Paralegal Certification or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in family law.
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures, regulations, and court processes.
- Excellent legal research and document drafting skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong client relationships.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Proficiency in legal case management software and tools, including DivorceMate.
