ZSA Legal Recruitment is seeking a motivated and dynamic National Manager of Programming and Events to join its vibrant team, for a full-time permanent position in Toronto. If you are a lawyer looking to step away from practice, but remain connected and involved with the legal community or, if you are a legal professional with experience in Business Development, Marketing and Events, this unique role could be for you!
This is an ideal opportunity for a legal professional who no longer wants to practice law, who is involved and connected in the legal community, and interested in giving back to that community through timely and informative programming, while managing a series of events designed to honour and recognize the accomplishments of Canadian Counsel.
The role will entail managing the production of several large-scale events produced by ZSA across Canada, with a focus on the following:
- Planning and successful execution of our flagship awards programmes, the General Counsel Awards, Quebec General Counsel Awards, and the Western Canada General Counsel Awards.
- Development and planning of the Quorum Club, an invitation only event for Canadian General Counsel, in addition to various other ZSA events in partnership with external organizations (Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), etc.)
- Communication and relationship building within the Canadian private and in-house bar community regarding sponsorship opportunities, partnership opportunities, event participation, etc.
- Keeping ZSA Management and Recruiters informed of partnership and sponsorship opportunities in the legal community.
The successful candidate will have a background in law, with either private practice or in-house experience, with demonstrated involvement and ties within the legal community. Alternatively, the successful candidate may have a background in Business Development, Events and Marketing, ideally within a large law firm. An understanding of issues unique to lawyers, and specifically the in-house bar, is an asset. Strong communication skills, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple and varied priorities in a fast-paced environment is a necessity. Bilingualism (English/French) while not required, would be an asset.
ZSA is proud to provide a great environment for individuals who want to learn, grow, and play a key role on a great team.
