Our client, a Boutique Law Firm specializing in providing full service legal solutions to employers, employees businesses and mortgage investors is looking to add a Real Estate Law Clerk to their team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing closing real estate transactions
- Drafting closing documents and registrations
- Conducting and reporting on title searches
- Preparing and responding to requisitions
- Conducting party due diligence and off-title searches
- Ordering title insurance
- Calculating adjustments, trust balances
- managing receipt and disbursement of closing funds
- Managing costs and expenses
- Managing real estate assistant
Law Clerk – Job Description
- Strong knowledge of law, procedures, and rules governing real estate transactions (residential and commercial)
- Knowledge and proficiency in legal software, including Teraview, ONLand, and Real Estate Practice management software (Quintalink, Closer, etc.)
- Experience preparing real estate transactional documents (residential and commercial).
- Experience performing real estate due diligence, and reporting on results.
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
- Law Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma/certificate is preferred (maybe not necessary. Experience is the determining factor)
- Experience managing junior clerks an asset
