Our client, Les Entreprises QMD Inc. is one of the largest construction companies in Quebec. Founded in 2006, QMD carries out private and public projects in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors. QMD services its clients from the initial design to the realization of the project, followed by the maintenance service of the building. Their collaborative approach values innovative solutions, while at the same time focusing on the ecological impact of their work.
To continue to support their needs, QMD is looking for a Director of Legal Affairs to join their team. You will report to a member of senior management and be responsible for all of the company’s legal matters, acting as the sole in-house counsel for this growing company at this time.
You will draft and negotiate a variety of contracts including land purchase agreements, professional services contracts, construction and subcontracting agreements, financing agreements with financial institutions, etc. You will provide advice to project teams on the interpretation of the rights and obligations of the parties with respect to contracts, and advise management on various strategic projects. When necessary, you will be involved in the management of disputes and claims and will be responsible for coordinating with external counsel.
Are you a business-minded person who is solution oriented? Are you able to ensure that projects are completed while minimizing legal risks? We’d like to talk to you. You must be a member of the Quebec Bar for at least 4 years, and have knowledge and/or experience in construction law to qualify. Please note that, post-pandemic, a hybrid policy of telecommuting and working from the downtown Montreal office will be implemented. Ref. #30728
