Our client is a boutique family law firm located in downtown Toronto. They pride themselves in providing excellent service to their clients, which includes not only excellent advocacy, but also ethical, respectful and compassionate treatment of others.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of recent experience in an Ontario family law office and is eager to learn and develop their career.
The law clerk will assist lawyers in family law matters (communicate with clients, complete court forms, prepare disclosure briefs, etc.) and perform administrative duties (intake calls, scheduling meetings, office management, etc.).
The clerk will have computer and technology knowledge including Divorcemate software.
The role is hybrid with an expectation of at least 3 days per week being in-person at the office.
The candidate will:
- Have excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
Of upmost importance to the firm is that the candidate is a team player and is willing to put in the time and effort to learn. They also requires someone who is respectful to clients, staff, opposing lawyers/parties, and anyone else they come into contact within the course of their work. This requires a well-rounded clerk who brings a unique and personal perspective to their practice.
