Our client is a leading HR Law firm in the GTA providing employers with labour and employment law advice and representation. Their firm provides proactive, high-quality, relationship-focused and innovative HR legal services to a diverse range of regional, national and international clients across the full spectrum of labour and employment law matters. Their team has a passion for their clients’ success and possesses a strategic understanding of their clients’ business needs.
They are seeking an experienced full time Legal Assistant to join their team who will help meet the needs of their growing client-base. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years experience working with lawyers; possess knowledge of labour and employment law and civil litigation; and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Skill Requirements:
- Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma, Law Clerk Diploma, and/or equivalent demonstrated expertise coupled with a minimum of five (5) years legal or Employment Law experience
- Proficiency with the Rules of Civil Procedure and other relevant Board and/or Tribunal processes and procedures, including those of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with clients and other professionals
- Ability to exercise good judgment and secure confidential information
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft SharePoint and docketing software, including CLIO
- Experience working with a document management system within a law firm environment
- Solid work ethic, demonstrated initiative and a genuine interest in and passion for law
- Self-motivated, cooperative, and enthusiastic individual
- Quick learner with the ability to multi-task
- Flexible and available to work overtime when necessary
Work Arrangement
Hybrid work arrangement basis, requiring two (2) scheduled days in office between Monday and Thursday, and work from home three (3) days per week.
