Position Overview: As a Hybrid Legal Assistant/Law Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our clients success. They are seeking a candidate who is not only experienced and proficient but can seamlessly integrate into their team, hitting the ground running. Immediate availability is a key requirement for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, including Statements of Defence, Third Party Actions, Bills of Costs, Notices of Motion, and Affidavits of Documents.
- Independently manage files and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
- Review and summarize records for comprehensive case understanding.
- Trial preparation to contribute to the seamless execution of legal proceedings.
- Demonstrate an excellent command of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Effective communication with clients, experts, and internal team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation or insurance defence experience.
- Preferred: Law Clerk diploma from an accredited institution.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office is a must, while experience with LEAP, Summation, and Eclipse would be considered advantageous.
