As part of your duties, you will be called upon to intervene when disputes arise in the context of large-scale Canadian projects that the company is involved in related to construction, infrastructure and professional services. In advance of litigation and claims, you will anticipate issues and intervene to develop a negotiation and/or settlement strategy in order to obtain the best possible result for the company. You will identify potential risks and control disclosure to third parties so that, in the event of litigation or arbitration, the company is in a favorable position. From time to time, you will also be involved in litigation matters, acting as the internal point of contact with outside counsel retained in the relevant jurisdictions.
Are you known for your strategic sense and your ability to anticipate problems? Do you enjoy working on large-scale, long-term cases? If you practice in construction/infrastructure law or insurance litigation and have been a member of the Ontario Bar for at least 10 years, we would like to speak with you. Although not required, French will be considered an asset Ref. #31534
