Our client, the Chambre de la sécurité financière (« CSF »), has as its mission to protect the public by maintaining discipline and overseeing the training and ethics of more than 32,000 members, who are professionals dealing with insurance of persons, group insurance, financial planning, mutual funds and scholarship plans. With 70 employees, the CSF is the only multidisciplinary self-regulating organization in Canada.

To meet its requirements, the CSF is looking for a senior assistant syndic to join the syndic team, already composed of about twenty people.

Reporting to the syndic, you will investigate allegations of offences to the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services, the Securities Act and its regulations. You will analyze allegations, draft complaints and participate in the preparation and the hearings before the disciplinary committee. In addition to the investigation files that you will be responsible for, you will assist the syndic in overseeing inquiries, reviewing and elaborating procedures and processes, managing teams and activities of the syndic’s office, identifying relevant internal trainings, etc.

Are you familiar with disciplinary law, securities or compliance in the financial industry? Do you have leadership skills, are able to manage several files at the same time and have excellent analytical skills?
