To better serve its needs, CAE has created the position of Vice President, Legal Affairs to lead a team of some 20 lawyers and professionals around the world, and to oversee the legal services provided to its largest division, Civil Aviation. As an active member of the Legal, Compliance and Risk Management team, you will report to the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary of CAE. Your role will be to advise senior management on all legal and business issues and strategy, taking into consideration business objectives and the applicable legal framework. You will be a key contributor and negotiator in strategic partnerships, joint ventures and M&A transactions worldwide. You will oversee the development and implementation of internal policies, compliance mechanisms and standardized contract management processes. You will also manage relationships with outside counsel and lead various special and strategic projects as required.
Are you an assertive leader with a reputation for sound legal and business judgment? Do you have a proven track record of success in large, complex organizations? We’d like to talk to you. You must have at least 15 years of relevant experience in business and transactional law, acquired within a reputable firm or company, have managed teams, be bilingual and be a member of a Canadian or American Bar Association to qualify. Experience in international matters or an MBA will be considered an asset. Please note that a hybrid formula allowing for partial telecommuting will be possible post-pandemic and that occasional travel will be anticipated as part of the duties. Ref. #30754
