In order to continue meeting their growing needs, Medisca is looking to hire a Director, Legal Affairs.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Strategy and Innovation, you will be the only lawyer internally, and will be responsible for the company’s legal function. As such, you will play a pivotal role in offering strategic legal advice, direction and providing support to management as well as to other departments in order to identify and minimize legal risks, and determine the best course of action. On a daily basis, you will advise senior management on how to best protect the company’s business interests, manage legal risks and lead a team of legal professionals. You will negotiate and draft a variety of commercial contracts, from customer to supplier agreements, including licensing agreements. You will from time to time, be involved in transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships. You will also oversee corporate governance, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, manage litigation with external counsel (if any), and oversee the company’s intellectual property portfolio. You will act as the liaison to external counsel.

Do you have 10 or more years of relevant experience in business law within a renowned company or law firm? If you are bilingual, business and solution-oriented, recognized for your initiative, and are licensed to practice in Quebec, we would like to speak with you.
