Our client, Metergy Solutions (www.metergysolutions.com), seeks a Corporate/Commercial Legal Counsel with 2+ years post call experience to join its growing legal team in Markham, Ontario.

Metergy is a leading submetering provider in North America, and has offered turnkey solutions to clients for over 20 years, effectively helping customers manage their utility consumption.

Metergy itself is a portfolio company of Brookfield infrastructure. Brookfield is one of the world’s largest investors, owners, and operators of infrastructure assets across the utilities, transport, energy, data, and sustainable resource sectors. This sponsorship in turn provides Metergy with access to large scale capital, infrastructure investment expertise and global reach.

The Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in Metergy’s operations and growth in Canada and across the United States. The ideal candidate will be a driven individual who is a team player, personable and willing to turn to a range of legal matters.

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, preparing, and reviewing service agreements, IP matters, regulatory compliance, and managing general corporate and commercial matters, whilst assisting with M&A transactions, and advising on corporate governance, and more. The work will be broad in scope with the ability to work directly with various business groups and outside counsel, whilst reporting directly into the Chief Legal Officer and Senior VP, HR.
