I was placed as an associate and dealt with Warren and Orit.  I engaged ZSA to help me look for a new opportunity after I left my previous firm, where I had been actually been placed by Warren.  I have been working with Warren for over four years and he has been my absolute go-to person every time I’ve found myself looking for a new opportunity, so I did not make any efforts prior to contacting ZSA.  I reached out to Warren right away once I had made the decision to make a lateral move.  My experience with Warren and Orit was excellent. I was placed as an Associate Lawyer and dealt with Orit who was referred to me personally by a friend.  I had only done some networking and a few really short applications beforehand.  My overall experience was excellent.  Orit was amazing – answering all my questions and guiding me in a process I knew very little about.  It was my first time resigning a full-time job and starting a new one, so I needed quite a bit of hand holding.  What I found particularly helpful was she analyzed the fit really well and the expectations.  Orit was probably one of the best I have come across.  I have very little experience, of course, but she is very experienced and competent, and very fun to chat with at the same time.

I was placed as a Legal Counsel and dealt with Jason who reached out to me with a cold call.  I had a good experience. Jason kept in frequent contact even when he was clearly very ill. Jason was also very patient and compassionate with my extreme anxiety in waiting for the contract to come through and prevented me from blowing the deal.  What I found of particular value was Jason making me aware of the position and submitting my application.  He facilitated execution of the contract and acted as filter for my anxious energy.  I have not used any recruiters before but would use ZSA again.  Thank you Jason!

I was placed as a lawyer and dealt with Mike.  I had left the law for a while and was looking to get back into practice.  I happened to come across a ZSA ad in regard to this position and reached out.  The really attractive thing about it was that the ad indicated that the position was one where I wouldn’t have to rebuild a client base – the firm already had this in place. It was so helpful for me to know what they were looking for from the get-go as I find so many job postings are so unclear that you can end up going down a path only to learn that it isn’t what you are looking for (thereby wasting not only your own time but the others involved too).  Mike was excellent and very responsive and he made sure to make himself available to me, which I greatly appreciated.  I also did not feel like he was pushy with me and was really trying to let me determine if this was a good match.  When we spoke, he was engaging and kind, and was very much on top of what was going on.  If there was an area where he wasn’t sure of the answer, he would find out.  Overall, I really enjoyed dealing with Mike!  I really appreciated his straightforwardness in telling me about the firm’s situation and why they were looking for someone, etc.  It really helped me to figure out if this was something I would like to pursue.  Also, there was a point where I wasn’t quite sure how to broach one aspect of work (commuting/working remotely) and Mike was great to walk me through it and then act as a go-between on that issue.  He was also fantastic about following up and checking in with me (both of which I needed!).  I have been contacted, and spoken with, other recruiters in the past, but those interactions have never gone anywhere.

I came to Orit Sinai as a commercial litigation partner at a national Bay Street firm who was looking to make a change. I love my firm (and have been here since I was a student), but I fell out of love with private practice and envisioned joining a top-tier in-house legal team as the next step in my career. From my first call with Orit, I could tell that she “got it”. She understood my objectives, the litigator skillset, my reasons for wanting a change, and the type of environment I was seeking. This was exactly the type of career opportunity that I was hoping for, but did not imagine I would get. Finding a suitable in-house role for litigators is rare. Finding an in-house opportunity for a litigator that checks off all of the boxes, and realizing it in a short time period, is near impossible. (Well…unless you have someone like Orit.)

I engaged ZSA as I had worked with Travis before when he placed me on a contract position which worked out really well.  I was looking for about 12 months before this placement.  My experience was excellent from the interview process to the hiring process.  Travis provided timely responses to any of the questions that I asked and with feedback following the interviews so that I was not left wondering whether or not I got the position.  He was really good at identifying positions that match with my skill set and didn’t waste my time by offering positions that weren’t a good fit.  I have been working with him for a while and my experience has always been really positive.  What was of value and very helpful to me was that Travis does a really good job balancing the interests of the candidate with the employer.  I find that he really looks out for the best interests of the candidate and is really good at keeping the candidate informed throughout the process so that they are not kept in the dark.  He is also very responsive to any questions that the candidate has (which makes what is normally a very stressful process much easier) and responds to emails immediately regardless of the time, i.e. on weekends or after hours.  I have used other recruiters in the past but my experience with ZSA was far superior.  The other recruiters did not take the time to really get to know the candidate the way that ZSA does.  My experience with ZSA has been very positive and I would be very happy to work with them again.

I was placed as a CCO and saw a posting that was of interest to me and therefore reached out to Orit. My experience with her was excellent. She was very supportive throughout the process and acted like a strong business partner. I did not make a lot of moves between companies in my career and having the support from Orit was crucial to me. I reached out and responded to an ad by ZSA posted on Indeed resulting in being placed as an Office Manager. I dealt with Kareyn and my experience working with her was excellent. She brought great value to the whole hiring process which was so helpful. While I have used other recruiters in the past, I found ZSA to be better.

I am now an Associate Counsel at a national firm, responsible for the China practice. I engaged ZSA before, in 2004, when I was placed at then Lang Michener. I reached out to ZSA as I thought ZSA had the resources and expertise I needed. I had a very good experience working with ZSA. First, they followed up with me after another ZSA consultant I had contacted before left. Second, they were very patient and tolerant of my delay in response or wavering through the course of over half a year. If they had not followed up with me again and again, I’d have given up pursuing further discussions with their recommended firm(s). Third, I was able to talk to ZSA frankly about my feelings, concerns and requirements. Finally, they were very helpful in the offer stage – trying to obtain the best offer for me, finalizing the offer details and getting the offer signed off on time. I was approached by a couple of other recruiters outside of Canada but they were not comparable to ZSA. One recruiter was upset when I decided not to pursue further discussion with a recommended firm. I cannot think of anything that would have improved my experience. I was in private practice and found it hard with kids home schooling etc., and wanted to move to an in-house role.  As a candidate, I found that Travis provided good service and was very efficient. I engaged ZSA because of a previous positive experience. I dealt with Charline Guay and my experience with her was excellent.
