12+ years | Ville Saint-Laurent (or elsewhere with regular travel to Montreal and Ottawa)
Our client, CAE (TSX:CAE, NYSE:CAE), is a global high-technology company and a partner of choice in the civil aviation, defence and security, and healthcare sectors. Its Defense & Security (D&S) division is a world-class training and mission systems integrator, offering a wide range of training and operational support solutions for air, land, sea, space and cyber operations. CAE’s D&S division, which operates in more than 35 countries, is seeking a Head of Legal, to support its Canadian operations, which include approximately 650 employees.
Reporting to the Vice President, Legal, Defence & Security (based in the US) and working closely with the Vice President of D&S Canada on a day-to-day basis, you will be a member of her management team and supervise a team of approximately 15 professionals. You will be responsible for the commercial contracts related to the division, from their negotiation to their authorization, including their optimization, administration and interpretation during execution. You will advise management on the identification and minimization of commercial and legal risks, both for ongoing activities and for those related to the expansion into the Canadian market. You will participate in projects involving large contracts, joint venture agreements and strategic partnerships. You will assist in the development of internal policies, provide legislative and regulatory oversight, and provide in-house training as required.
Do you have experience in contract law? Do you want to participate in the strategic direction of a company of international stature, and are you recognized as a leader and team mobilizer? If you are a member of a Canadian or American Bar Association and have relevant experience, including in personnel management, we would like to hear from you. You must be bilingual to qualify. Please note that a hybrid formula allowing for partial telecommuting will be possible post-pandemic, and that a candidate who would be stationed elsewhere than in Montreal will be required to visit the Ottawa and Ville St-Laurent offices on a regular basis.
