Our client, GardaWorld, is the world’s largest private security company. Founded in 1995, the company’s services include cash handling and transportation, protective services and pre-board screening at Canadian airports. GardaWorld employs nearly 132,000 professionals worldwide and serves a diverse clientele in North America, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. Building on its sustained growth, GardaWorld is now looking for an additional lawyer to join its labour and employment law team.

On a daily basis, you will be part of the Human Resources department working closely with other lawyers in the region. On a day-to-day basis, you will deal with a variety of cases, with a high volume of individual employment report files, both to provide high-level advice to business people and to intervene after employment ends. You will also regularly deal with collective labour reports, including interpretation of collective agreements and grievances, and take charge of occupational health & safety and human rights issues. You will also provide various legal opinions and adapt internal policies to ensure that company practices comply with the applicable legislative and regulatory framework. You will act as a point of contact with external lawyers in the event of hearings or litigation, and will make court appearances yourself, locally, a few times a year.

Do you have a minimum of three years’ experience in Labour and Employment Law? Would you like to practice law in different provinces? Are you recognized as versatile and looking for a hands-on role? We would love to hear from you! You must be bilingual and a member of the Quebec Bar to qualify. Experience in Federal Labour Law, although not required, will be considered a strong asset. The position is based in Montreal with both hybrid mode and fully remote work arrangements available (with the exception of certain annual meetings where onsite attendance is required). Ref.: #32526
