Experience/Credentials

• 3+ years experience with reputable law firm;
• Considered an asset but not essential:
  • Experience with environmental filings/applications;
  • Bilingual (not mandatory, but preferred)
  • US corporate filing experience
• For Paralegals: licensed in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta or BC)
• For Law Clerks: diploma from an accredited institution;
• Corporate searching knowledge;
• Strong proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
• Strong communication skills and a team player with a willingness to learn; and
• Ability to project manage multiple files with a high attention to detail.

Role

• Assisting in-house counsel and business development leader with due diligence and preparing for M&A closings;
• Organizing and tracking files for M&A transactions
• Digitizing corporate information, including minute books, property information (titles etc), licenses, permits and environmental reports;
• Obtaining due diligence materials, such as corporate certificates of good standing, real estate and title information, and securities filings
• Perform or assist with incorporations, amendments, dissolutions, revivals, wind-ups, continuances, and amalgamations;
