Our client is a leader in its field in North America. To meet the needs of their internal clients, they are looking to add a Director to join their well-established legal team in Montreal.
In this newly created position, you will act as a legal reference in employment law matters and will primarily work on individual employment cases. You may also be called upon to work on group cases.
You will act as a counsel to the Human Resources and Labour Relations Department, as well as management and operations on a variety of issues related to that sector. Files can include harassment cases, human rights and accommodation issues, COVID crisis management, various internal policies, and layoffs/terminations, where applicable. You will also provide advice, guide the strategy in cases, document them, negotiate settlements, and conduct mediation sessions. Furthermore, you will be the external strategist and budget manager for contentious cases.
If you are a self-assured and astute lawyer, experienced in employment law, and interested in a national management role within that field, contact us without further ado! The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in labour and employment law, be a member of the Quebec or Ontario Bar, and be bilingual.
