Founded in 1912, ArcelorMittal Dofasco is Hamilton’s largest private sector employer with nearly 5,000 employees. We are at the forefront of the steel industry with a plan to change the way we make steel to significantly reduce GHG emissions in the short term, while reaching net zero before 2050. Ours will be the first integrated steelmaking site in the world to make this transformation and it will happen by 2028. Our global company is leading the world with significant decarbonization projects in North America and Europe and our site is key to this plan.

To address growth in our legal team, we are looking to add a Legal Counsel in Hamilton. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of strong corporate/commercial skills, coupled with the ability to provide legal advice and recommendations to internal clients regarding legal matters on business operations and claims. You will be the point of contact for our Decarbonization work as it relates to Legal, and also handle a wide array of contract drafting, review and negotiation as well as litigation management and risk assessment. In addition, you can expect to provide advice to the General Counsel regarding the management and execution of special projects, compliance and governance training, and legal learning sessions. A hybrid in-office/at-home model is available.
