Our client, Copap, is a local private company founded over thirty years ago. They serve customers from all over the world accommodating their various product needs, including pulp & paper, petrochemicals, steel and aluminum. Copap provides a variety of services including sales, shipping, and risk and supply chain management through its various companies, four of which are located in Canada, one in France and two in Brazil.

In order to better respond to growing demand and to prepare a succession plan that could extend over the next few years, Copap is looking for a legal advisor to join its ranks.

Reporting to the Vice President of Legal Affairs, you will devote the vast majority of your time to commercial law. You will review and negotiate various contracts, including purchase and sale agreements with suppliers and clients, as well as all related documentation. In addition, you will ensure the maintenance of the company’s books and supervise the management of claims and/or litigation, if any.

Do you have a real interest in everything that surrounds the conclusion of a contract and wish to evolve within a company that has diversified its activities in order to pursue its growth? If you have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in commercial law, are a skilled negotiator and a member of the Quebec Bar, we would like to speak with you. In addition to English, which is essential, fluency in Spanish or Portuguese will be considered an important asset. Please note that, post-pandemic, an arrangement allowing for part-time telecommuting may be considered. Ref. #30664
