Our client, a financial institution, is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to join its Montreal office.

Reporting to a legal team leader based outside of the country, you will be responsible for providing legal, regulatory, and transactional advice and counsel to business units, in connection with a variety of exchange-traded derivatives, securities in addition to other sales and trading activities. You will be involved in structuring transactions, by negotiating and drafting the wide variety of legal documents required. You will provide advice to internal clients regarding the development of new products. You will be required to monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s activities, and will take part in coordinating and supervising external counsel.

Are you passionate about the field, looking for proximity with different business units and potential to grow? In addition to Canadian law, would you like to gain international legal practice experience, including U.S. law? If you have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in securities, financial markets or derivatives, earned at either a renowned law firm or in-house at a company or financial institution, please contact us.
