To meet its needs, Power Corporation of Canada is looking for a lawyer with between three and five years of experience to join its legal affairs team, which already comprises three other lawyers.
On a daily basis, you will assist with compliance oversight with respect to the global investment activities of subsidiaries in many jurisdictions worldwide, working with external lawyers and internal compliance teams of the company’s subsidiaries. In commercial matters, you will draft and review various commercial contracts, including investment contracts, services contracts, confidentiality agreements, information technology contracts, consultancy contracts, charitable donation agreements, etc. You will also participate in the drafting, implementation and updating of internal corporate policies and will participate in legislative and regulatory oversight. With respect to securities, you will assist in matters relating to public company governance and disclosure requirements. You will also support the team in the preparation of continuous disclosure documents (including the annual information form) and the company’s annual general meeting of shareholders.
