Over a year ago, ZSA and Blink Equity announced their partnership designed to assist Black and diverse lawyers to not only find challenging positions but also thrive in their new work environments.
In recognition of Black History Month, we are pleased to report that we have already:
- created Canada’s largest national databank of Black lawyers;
- made inroads on communicating with many Black lawyers in order to better understand their needs and assist with their growth; and
- launched an initiative, in conjunction with participating law firms, to build a roster of leading Black lawyers for General Counsel to reference when they seek to ensure that their outsourced work is being handled by a diverse lawyer.
ZSA and Blink Equity are determined to play a key role in advancing the cause of diversity in the Canadian legal marketplace. We welcome all suggestions and offers of assistance.
