3-8 years| Pointe-Claire (Hybrid)
Our client, Andritz Hydro Canada, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of electromechanical equipment and services for hydroelectric power plants, and works in the area of hydroelectric power generation. In business for more than 180 years, Andritz Hydro Canada employs over 500 people and is part of the Andritz Group, which includes nearly 50 lawyers worldwide.
In anticipation of growth and an increased workload, Andritz is creating a Legal Counsel position within its existing legal team.
Reporting to the Director of Legal Affairs for Canada, you will be part of a team of two lawyers in Canada, and 7 lawyers across North America. Your day-to-day work will be focused on supporting Canadian operations related to hydroelectric power generation. In particular, you will provide legal support to the business units: primarily in commercial and construction law, but also in labour and employment law. You will draft, revise and interpret a variety of commercial contracts, including customer contracts, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, service agreements and more. You will provide support to the Human Resources and Labour Relations departments in the event of dismissals, sanctions, negotiation of collective agreements, etc. (without, however, having to make representations). You will also provide support in dispute management and litigation (with external counsel when relevant) and assist the Director with transactions.
Are you interested in joining an entrepreneurial environment in the fast-growing renewable energies sector? Do you enjoy being at the heart of the action, are self-reliant and able to propose practical solutions that protect the company while facilitating the achievement of business objectives? If so, we would love to speak with you! You need to be licensed to practice law in a Canadian province, have a good working knowledge of French and have knowledge of or experience in civil law to qualify. Ref.: #32483
