Our client, IPEX, is North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of integrated thermoplastic piping systems, including: pipe, fittings, accessories and tools for municipal, residential, commercial and industrial applications. With over 50 years of experience, modern manufacturing technologies, efficient distribution centers and customer service throughout North America, the IPEX name has become synonymous with quality and performance. The company is constantly growing, with over 4000 employees and 37 plants and distribution centers today.

To meet their needs, IPEX is looking to fill a Legal Counsel position to join its legal division which is comprised of almost 20 people, including ten lawyers. On a day-to-day basis, your role will be varied and organized around three main areas:

• Employment law (in a non-unionized context), for Canada and the United States, in collaboration with external counsel where required;
• Dispute management with involved parties, litigation management with external lawyers in the event of litigation, risk identification and assessment, and coordination with insurers;
• Commercial law matters, spanning from construction contracts to material and equipment purchase agreements and commercial leases.

In addition to these tasks, which will take up most of your time, you will assist with various special projects.

If you are bilingual, a member of the Quebec Bar, have experience in employment law or litigation, and are interested in a highly diversified practice, we would like to speak with you. We are looking for someone with resourcefulness, good reflexes, a love of learning, and the ability to take initiative. The level of autonomy the successful candidate will be entrusted with will be commensurate with their level of experience.
